Advisor

Ethiopian refugee Zed Minale knows only too well the heartaches and the triumphs of refugee women. When she was a college student in 1974, her family was forced to flee their homeland after a military junta overthrew Emperor Haile Selassie. They could not go home, hence moved to London, and ultimately the United states. It was her life experiences that inspired her to found the African Refugee Immigrant Service in 2000. ARIS is dedicated to addressing the health, education and social needs of African refugees and immigrants in Saint Louis. Zed Minale works hard to provide various services ranging from family wellness programs to after school programs for children. Her experiences have also given her a good understanding of how her clients feel and what they might need. Madame Zed has made a large impact on the Saint Louis area and ultimately the world around us.
