About The Symposium
The Annual POHER Medical Research and Mentorship Symposium brings together medical students and early-career health professionals from across Africa to foster collaboration, ignite research interest, and strengthen mentorship networks.
The inaugural symposium was held in August 2019, at The Copperbelt University School of Medicine. The event hosted over 300 students from various medical schools around Zambia and featured presentations from local and international researchers, including doctors in various specialties who enlightened students on the various paths and opportunities they could take after medical school. The symposium encourages students as key stakeholders in the future of our health system to solve the many health challenges that we face through evidence-based practice and research.
